Singer, actress, and YouTube creator Lia Marie Johnson has signed to Capitol Records and releases her debut single for the label, “DNA,” today via all digital service providers. A deeply personal song about her father’s battle with alcoholism, Johnson co-wrote “DNA” with its producer Howard Benson, co-producer Lenny Skolnik, and Sidnie Tipton.
Lia first became known to the public via her YouTube channel, followed by roles in the Emmy-winning web series REACT, which is the most successful web series in history with close to 1 billion views. Last year, the 19-year-old San Diego native was named one of the Top 100 YouTubers in the world, and she currently boasts an actively engaged 1.6 million Instagram followers.
