CATFISH AND THE BOTTLEMEN RELEASE NEW SINGLE “LONGSHOT”

PLATINUM-CERTIFIED BRIT AWARD-WINNING BAND’S FIRST NEW MUSIC IN THREE YEARS
NEW MUSIC COINCIDES WITH U.S. HEADLINE TOUR INCLUDING DATES IN LOS ANGELES, CA ON MARCH 22 AND BROOKLYN, NY ON APRIL 3

Catfish and the Bottlemen’s young and growing fanbase finally get their hit of new music as the band releases their single “Longshot” today via Capitol Records: LISTEN HERE. Revealed exclusively on BBC Radio One’s Future Sounds With Annie Mac, the single was produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, The Killers) and comes along with a new music video: WATCH HERE. The dramatic, one-take birds-eye video filmed on an English cliffside by long-time collaborator Jim Canty completes their emphatic return.

New music arrives on the cusp of a string of sold-out U.K. arena dates in February and the announcement of the band’s transatlantic return with an upcoming U.S. headline tour. Kicking off March 12, the run will bring the band to the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on March 22 and Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY on April 3. This will be Catfish and the Bottlemen’s first tour in the States since their nationwide stadium jaunt with Green Day in 2017. Tickets are on sale this Friday, January 11, and full routing can be found below.

Tumbling into 2019 with a succession of festival appearances in Australia, Van McCann (vocals, guitars), Johnny Bond (guitars), Robert “Bob” Hall (drums), and Benji Blakeway (bass) return home to the U.K. to begin a new and exciting chapter. As “Longshot” makes its impact, the band consolidates their hard-earned status as an arena act, teasing signs of the anticipated follow-up to 2014’s platinum-certified debut, The Balcony and 2016’s gold, number one album, The Ride.

Practically of no fixed abode, Catfish and the Bottlemen have toured constantly since their formation, now over a decade ago. The past eighteen months have seen the band claim their place as a bona fide arena band at home, adding a sold-out UK arena tour in February 2019 to an impressive list of already conquered stages. Significantly, it also invited more quality time with global fans on tours to South America, Australia, Japan, and the United States, culminating in an electrifying main-stage performance at Lollapalooza in 2018. “Longshot” hints that the band’s rapid ascent to “big hall” players has crossed over to influence their time in the studio.
