Gavin James’ debut studio album, Bitter Pill, is now available worldwide. Released via Capitol Records in the U.S. and Canada, it features 12 original songs from the Irish artist plus his interpretation of The Magnetic Fields’ “The Book Of Love.” The album was produced by Fraser T. Smith (Adele, Sam Smith) and Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, Florence + The Machine).

The video for “Nervous” premiered today and can be seen HERE. The clip tracks James as he sings on the streets of Dublin and makes his way onto the stage of the city’s Olympia Theatre, performing “Nervous” during his recent sold-out, three-night stand at the legendary venue.

James – who was named as one of BuzzFeed’s “Artists To Look Out For In 2016” is currently on the road with Ben Rector. The tour includes the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA (March 19) plus a St. Patrick’s Day show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA (March 17). See below for itinerary.

Acclaimed for his heart-felt live performances, James was tapped for a series of high profile gigs in 2015 – North American tours with Sam Smith and Tori Kelly, opening for Taylor Swift in London’s Hyde Park and supporting friend and fan Ed Sheeran at Dublin’s 75,000-capacity Croke Park.

James met Sheeran by chance at a Dublin pub in 2014. After a night of jamming and drinking whiskey together, Sheeran tweeted that record labels were missing out if they didn’t sign Gavin and a publishing deal soon followed. James’ full-length album Live At Whelans – a stripped down set recorded at a favorite Dublin venue – hit No. 1 in Ireland and introduced him to an international audience. It surpassed five million plays across Spotify and YouTube and jumped into the Top 10 of the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart in the U.S. after he performed “The Book of Love” on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2015. James paid two visits to “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and also performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Bitter Pill is already certified Platinum in Ireland, where it was released last November. Fans voted the title track as the Song of the Year at the recent Choice Music Prize ceremony, which recognizes the best of Irish music. “The Book of Love” has gone Platinum in Holland and Gold in Belgium.

Noisey.com hailed James as “a soulful singer-songwriter sure to make you feel less alone when you’re down in the dumps” and Clash praised him as “tender, emotional…no mean talent.” The Irish Times said, “there is proof on Bitter Pill that James has enough emotionally depth-charged tunes in his back pocket to take him from here to the top of the charts and back again.”
