KINGS OF LEON SIGN WITH CAPITOL, PREPARE FOR TOUR

Today, Tennessee rock band Kings of Leon announced their new album, Can We Please Have Fun, their ninth release to date and the first for their new label home at Capitol Records. The album arrives on May 10, while the lead single “Mustang” is available to stream everywhere. Click here to listen, and watch the official music video below.

Frontman Caleb Followill describes Can We Please Have Fun, which was produced by Kid Harpoon (Maggie Rogers, Harry Styles), as “the most enjoyable record I’ve ever been a part of.” His bandmate and brother, drummer Nathan Followill, agreed, saying “It’s like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable. I love it when a rock band is not embarrassed to admit that every song doesn’t have to be on 11.”

To celebrate the release, Kings of Leon will embark on a world tour later this year, with dates across 26 cities in the U.S. and Canada. There’s also a June 30 date in London where they’ll headline at BST Hyde Park. General on-sale tickets are available March 1 at 10am local time, but access to the exclusive presale can be found on kingsofleon.com until Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 11pm local. Stay tuned for more international dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
